Hello Squire, what a bout ye? Tis I The macker,(only joking). Mad things, looking up sh$%e on te t'interweb and came across yourself, fanaar, fanaar. I think Gail may have said,
I came across loads of old photo's of people and places from the glorious Corcrain, have to dig them all out, but the question is,,,,, how would you like them?
Do you want them sent on the old e-mail thingy, or original photos to scan and put up as you like.
People include Me, (obviously), Geoff Irvine, John Norton, Micheal Norton, Scones, Luigi, Squealer, the Rowntree's, the Murphy's, etc, etc.
Also, like yourself, have recently got into digital photo thingy(Nikon D50) and have taken to photographing local scenes(trying to get alternate shots of our glorious Port'e'up).
Anyway, had a few, He he, anyway, how do you want them? Can call and show you originals or can scan and e-mail them, up to you.

Hello!
My name is Dawn McConville Green.
I know that my family is from Portadown and I still have some family over there. I believe the family name now is Fox. I have been to your site a few times to enjoy your pictures.
You do beautiful work. One photo in particular holds my interest. It is in the Winter group and is of the McConville Bros Wine Merchants. I would love to get a copy of this photo for my father.
Would you be willing to help me with this? Let me know what you might charge for such. I very much would appreciate it.
God Bless,

Armagh will always be home, and there will ever be a hole in my heart when I'm not there. It's the people, it's the craic, it's the music... and its people like you who make it all special.

Hi Dean,
You have done a wonderful thing here.
To see Portadown in the way that you have portrayed it...brings back to me some of the sweetest memories i have ever had.
I was actually born and brought up in Corcrain Avenue No.12(my Grandfathers house, Charlie Hamilton) to be precise and yes actually born in the house....almost 40 years ago.
The picture you have on your site of the Plantation in Corcrain is simply amazing and you have brought tears to a grown mans eyes.
You can actually see the house where i was born and it was great to see the plantation which i played on for so many years still looking as i remembered it.....although minus a few trees.
I now live in Waringstown but it would never hold a candle to the Corcrain i remember......the corcrain in your pictures.
Corcrain in the mid seventies was the most sought after estate to live in in Portadown and although it went through a real bad patch in the eighties ....
its great to see it returning to its former glory and a real credit to the residents who have fought so long and hard to restore it.
Anyway....thankyou for taking time to show the world what Portadown is really like and keep up the good work.
Godbless,

Dear Sir,
I am a 3rd year student at College, where i have been studying Art and Design. Looking through your website i found your work to be very interesting and was inspired by some of your pieces.
Throughout my 3 years, i have been very interested in photography, in my course i gained 3 Distinctions, which is equivilant to an A grade in photography.
I am hoping to further my career in this topic.
However to gain a better understanding of this and get more experience i am looking for a part-time job in photography where i would get the chance to improve my skills and develop photographs.
If you have any part-time jobs going i would be happy to show you a portfolio of my work. i am looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Dean,
I’ve just been looking for some photos of the Portadown area and came across your site. Two or three of them are what I’m looking for; I’m looking for 10 overall.
Would it be possible to use the pics – maybe look at others you have available as well, if you are willing. I will, of course, pay you for their use – it’s a commercial venture within Portadown.

Hi
I was researching my grandfather who was born in Corcrain in 1879 and in so doing hit your beautiful site.
I first visited Charles Street in Portadown in 1958. (though now demolished and rebuilt). However I did not take to the general atmosphere.
Over the last 40 odd years I have made various tours of Ireland and at times I would pass through Portadown and it seemed very depressing.
However in July as I took my family to Mayo we stopped off in Portadown. I was so impressed it seemed to be bustling and happy with noticeably immigrants from eastern Europe and I even saw a Polish Deli.
Anyway your website suggest further healing. It is great and I will tell others about it.
Best wishes to you and Portadown.

Hi,
I enjoyed looking at your site which I have only just come across while looking for information on Portadown where my mother was born and brought up. She left there as a teenager in 1957 ish and moved to Scotland where she met my father and she never ever got the chance to return.
She had six of a family - I am the eldest and sadly she died suddenly aged 43yrs in 1984 when I was only 23yrs old and no interest in my background.
I am hoping to visit within the next year when I have collected enough information on places I want to visit regarding my ancestors and their whereabouts to make it an ancestral trail collecting all I can which I have always wanted to do and now the time has come where
I will be able to afford to spend time travelling throughout the areas and enjoying a lifelong ambition.
However, I am wondering if by any chance you have any old photographs of her birth home which was "5 Ballyoran Terrace, Portadown" and if not would it be possible that you could direct me on an address where I may be able to purchase one - or even just a photo of that street.
I have had so much trouble finding out about my ancestors as my grandparents both died when my mother was only 6/7 yrs old.
I know this may sound like a hardship story at a glance but I have attached a few bits to let you know that it is a genuine request and I don't mind paying for anything in my search.
I look forward to hearing from you even if it is only to say that you can't help me or just to give me a few leads as to where I can get some information to help me.
Regards and thanks,
Anne-marie.
P.S. I am looking forward to showing my aunt your page as she is not on computer but I intend to have her here soon to view it as she lives over 30miles from me and I don't see her too often unfortunately.
I live in Glenrothes, Fife, Scotland & she lives in Perth, Scotland. She was born in Belfast though. Does anyone have any photo's of the old Edenderry School or Drumgoose School which my relatives attended. Please email them to me...

Hi,
A cousin of mine sent me an e-mail with a link to your Portadown pictures. I loved them and really like some of the unusual shots. My Grandparents came to America from Co. Down and Co Armagh Grandpa in 1904 and he worked and sent for my grandmother she came in 1906, to San Francisco arriving right after the big earthquake.
So my mom is first generation American. My mom still has a first cousin in Portadown but we have lost touch with him and his children. I have been lucky enough to be in Northern Ireland twice. Once in 1980 and there were stil British tanks in the street and our rental car was stopped and searched several times. Several towns had curfews.
I couldn't get into Market Hill when my grandfather came from because of the curfew. I did get to stay in Portadown with my cousins for two days. My sister and I and our husbands were there again two years ago on a Brennan tour and it was great. We stayed two night in Armagh but I couldn't find my cou sin in the phone book.
We had planed to leave the tour for a day and hire a car, but since I couldn't contact him that didn't work out.
Thanks so much for your little touch of Irish. Carolyn Hansen-Gotelli, California, USA. | |

Dean, Delighted to find your website and see photos of Portadown, Belfast and Loveland, Estes, Rocky Mt park. My father was born in Ballymore Parish, 1905, emigrated to the US 1927.
One brother older, married, lived in Portadown was James Lundy. James had a son James "Maurice" Lundy , b 1921.
The last address we have for him, was 19 Hanover St Portadown N Ireland BT623ER, just a few years ago. He may have died. Also has a son Trevor and daughter Sharon who married a Keith Jones.
I know I shouldn't ask, but was wondering if you could check local phone books and see if you can find an updated address for "Maurice " Lundy or possibly his daughter.
Or maybe you could tell me and my second cousins how we could possibly find the info in Portadown. By the way, my brother, Don Lundy lives in Loveland, and his son, Douglas Lundy, an Orthopedic MD was living in Ft Collins up to 2006.
So wonderful to see your profession of faith on your website. Not ashamed of the glory of God.

I am surprised since I have not been to Ireland since 2002 and did not
notice the diveristy. To be very frank I am of Irish only heritage and
like to see the culture of the country as most Irish Americans do and
experience the Irish people. I live in USA and we have lots of
diversity and like to see a country of Italians in Italy, Germans in
Germany and kind of disappointed that all of Europe will be the same.
Sorry if that seems wrong but just how I feel.

We are visiting Ireland for the 3rd time in a few weeks. We have family
that still live in Portadown that we have been able to visit each time. This
year we have 16 family member coming with us. Back on 2005 we had
15 family members on the trip. My grandfather helped to convert the
St. Marks Church to using electricity instead of hmmm... oil/kerosine?
Can't quite remember at the moment but he was a big part in the wiring
that went within the church. The first time we were there in 2003, only 4
family members went, I came upon this beautiful church and kept taking
pictures of it...not realizing that it was THE CHURCH that I came to see
in the first place.
Anyhoo... I enjoyed looking at the portadown site.

I' ve taken quite a few railway photo's myself over the years, from all over the country. I'll maybe hunt some out for you and e-mail them to you.
There is one here that I have attached for you of the old and new Enterprise meeting at the old Portadown junction, this one was not taken by me though, it was taken by Bobby Creaney, from James St, i'm not sure if you know him or not.
If you were to use it, I don't think he would mind. Anyway Squire, it's good to see you are doing well and i'll maybe talk to you later

Just started to try and track down my parents birthplaces. My Dad was from born and raised in Portadown, my mum Tandragee.
So it was wonderful to see all your wonderful pictures of my heritage. I hope to be over and see it in person later this year or early next year.
Your photo’s have given me an incite into where they grew up. I thank you for that. Mum and dad always told me how wonderful it was.
I went over when I was a young boy of about 6 yrs of age with dad for my granny’s funeral, but can’t remember much about it.
I can see my sister and I are from a wonderful place and I can’t wait to find out more about Portadown, Tandragee and my family.
Thank you so much again.

Dear sir:
I ma researching ancestors "QUINN". I have a Michael Quinn who came to Oakville, Canada in the late 1840's or early 1850's. I have info down from there. I don't know where Michael came from (he and family were CE)
BUT I have a copy of a letter that one of his granddaughters wrote to an aunt on Jan 22, 1941.
She states that she has contacted some Quinn's in Killicomaine, Ireland and is waiting to hear back from them. She isn't holding out much hope because it was in the middle of the war. I don't know if she ever heard back and have no furthur info on her inquiry.
She mentions the mother of Michael, Margaret Quinn and her sons, (his brothers)
Warren , Jopith, John and son to John , another John who died abt 1934 and his daughter, Lavinia married to a MACGOWAN OR MAGOWAN.
I was hoping you could help me find a few sources for searching for genealogy info on Killicomaine.
Any help appreciated.

Hello Dean,
I have just been viewing your website to get a feel of what Portadown is like as I will be visiting in June with my husband.
I am trying to trace my late mother's family who lived at 3 Victoria Terrace in 1916. My mother's name was Maureen Vaughan and her father was William J Vaughan and her mother was Marion Vaughan formerly Cooke. I believe there were several children I know of Joseph who was born in 1912.
Her father was a classics teacher I believe he taught at Limavady Academy.
Could you advertise on your website for me?

Good luck ,Keep us informed of the 'Portadown Scene' ...

Hello, I enjoyed your pictures and thought I might share one with you. My great grandfather was from Portadown.
Attached is a picture of his brother Samuel McKee with "the oldest tinsmith in Portadown".
This was written on the back of the picture and it was taken about 1926.

Hello, My name is Catherine Campbell. I just wanted to tell you how happy I was to find your web site.
You see I am a campbell my marriage. My father in law is from Northern Ireland.
He was born and grew up in portadown. I love to hear him tell stories about his home town. (we live in america.)
And it was good to put some pictures to the names of the places.
I was wondering though if you have ever heard of Derrylard. That is where he lived.
And if you had any pictures of it. He left Ireland when he was 21 and hasen't been back.
I know he misses it so much. I hope to get our family to come home for a visit one day. Your town is beautiful.
It would mean the world to us.
Thank you,

Hello, Dean. I sent a note to your guest book something less than a year ago as I admired your pictures and asked for information about the area. Since then my husband and I have been in Portadown and surrounding area. We loved being there!
We'd found the precise location gggrandfather John Finnegan, married to Sarah Weir, lived when he leased his land from the Duke.
We also visited St. Mark's, where ggrandfather Benjamin Finnegan married Jane ,and we went to Vinecash Presbyterian Church, where John and Sarah were married in 1841.
The pastor there showed us the book recording their marriage.
I've just looked at some of your most recent pictures and am extremely impressed with the two pictures of St. Mark's. Do you have objections to my making copies? I have my own photos, but yours far surpass mine.
I did get some good pictures of the spot John lived and Benjamin grew up, as well as pictures of Vinecash and that wonderful record book.
A distant cousin we met by way of the internet was gracious to meet us at the train station when we arrived from Dublin, and Robert drove us around the area and even took us to Belfast for a day at PRONI and then for a drive through the Mountains of Mourne.
Our desire now is to make another visit to Ireland. How can we be homesick for a place we were in for only about two weeks?
We, by the way, live in the mountains of North Carolina.
Thanks for the web site you've done so beautifully!
Sincerely,

Hello,
I stumbled upon your online photo gallery this evening as I was
searching the internet for information about Portadown.
It seems that several ancestors of mine lived in Portadown or its
environs in the mid 1800's before emigrating -- some to Australia and
some to America. For several years I have been spending what spare time
I have researching my family line, hoping that I might someday be able
to strike up a correspondence with the offspring of a relative that
stayed behind.
My name is Don McKell, and I live in Los Gatos, California, a
Portadown-sized town about a hour south of San Francisco.
I notice that you show a few pictures in your gallery of cemeteries
in Portadown. Have you even encountered a "McKell" grave marker? Would
you be interested in accepting a commission to take a look?
Warm regards,

Hello Squire!
A blast from the past... and what a great website. Seeing photos of Portadown brought back many memories, especially Finlandia!
It a pleasant alternative view of the town compared to its biased entry in the book "Crap Towns II:The Nation Decides".
Today I live in Vancouver Canada with my wife and two daughters. I go back "home" occasionally but when I do visit I drive through the town to see how it has evolved over the years.
I have a lot of memories of Killicomaine JHS. Many of us are 40 this year... if not already 40! How time flies.
Keep up the great work with the website.

Hello, I was curious about Portadown and so found my way to your page.
Very interesting photos with sympathetic comments; clearly you are a good observer.
I am fifth-generation Australian on my mother's side which hails from Cornwall but on my father's side my great-grandfather, David England, was born in Portadown in 1833.
He would have grown up with at least some of the things you have photographed.
So thanks for that information, and now I know about Portadown, Northern Ireland!
All the best,

Thankyou for you site! I've always wondered what Portadown looked like... Over the years we've heard so much about Northern Ireland in Canada. Actually, Portadown reminds me of my home in Southern Ontario... it's a small town of about 15,000 but, it looks very similar...
I was interested in one of your pictures ... the one with the Best store... I've looked at a genealogy of my family name and there are a lot of Gilpins around the area ... especially connected with the Seagoe Parish... one of my relatives married a Best and the immigrated to Canada...
So I always wondering about my roots... thanks Dean for your site,

I'm a newcomer to the computer business so please excuse my amateur effort at E.mailing.
I'm from Portadown but have spent many years in England.Your photos of Portadown are marvellous and thoroughly enjoyable.Just a wee point I'd like to ask about.
I was born and reared in a house in Glenmahon Ave.,in the Annagh (8 sisters and 3 brothers who all still live in the Portadown area). Why are there no photos of the Annagh anywhere on the internet ?
At least none that my friends or myself can find.Is there any way that you could amend this? May I ask you something else Mr. Weir?
When I was a young man going on Saturday nights to the dances in Carleton Street orange hall, my friends and myself used to buy our cigarettes from a gentleman called Tommy Weir who had his wee shop in West St.
Are you related in any way to that gentleman ? At that time my parents had moved house to Drumilly Green in Redmanville Estate and I was one of the 60's typical teenagers.
I realise that you are a busy gentleman but perhaps someday you will find time to drop me an E. mail. It will be a pleasure hearing from you
Meantime my family and myself wish you and your family a very Happy Christmas and every success in 2007.

I am looking for images for our website and literature that would encompass this wide area and communicate something positive. I am particularly interested in images of the Bann.
Is there any way you could help us? Would this be something you are interested in at all?
If so, please get in touch.

| Comments: | I spring from Baltredus / Ralfredus De Vere. My line goes down through to
Major Thomas
Weir and his (possibily illegitimate) son Thomas Weir. The info I have is this:
Major Weir founded by tradition the Tyrone branch of the family. His
grandson, or great grandson ( I think there may be a generation missing in
my records between Thomas Weir (son of Major Thomas) and John Weir) John
Weir of Kildress has a son Andrew, who had a daughter Margaret Weir of Vere
of Kildress. It was she who married Archibald Thompson and he suuposedly
took the Weir / Vere name, or it was just passed on to their son.
Their son Archibald Weir of Kildress married Rachel Stewart of Desertcreat,
and had a son Robert born circa 1826. He married Sarah Graham.
They had about six children, one of whom being John Weir who married Mary
Ann Logan of Logan Manor, Galloway.
I have no idea what their occupations were, nor their religion, nor their
parish. I am just "shooting blind" and hoping for the correct result. If
you can help me with this information I would be most grateful
With thanks.

Just a word of thanks for your photos of Portadown. My grandfather, Henry Harrison, was born in Portadown, and came with his family to Schenectady, New York, USA around the year 1910! His father's name was also Henry Harrison, and his wife's name (my great grandmother) was Margaret Moore.
I was wondering if there are any Harrisons or Moores still kicking around in Portadown?
It was also interesting to see your photographs of Prague. My grandfather Henry ended up marrying my grandmother, Helen Kalasarova, whose family came from Prague around 1900. It was interesting to see both sides of my family represented on your site.
Too bad about the guest book being closed down. It was nice to read of others who came from Portadown. You should start a site for people looking for geneological information regarding family from Portadown!

Just a note to let you know I saved your web site from almost the beginning of your journey into photographing Portadown and the surrounding areas. I was happy I discovered such a site and I revisit it often.
What splendor you catch for all to mentally record.
I am still amazed at the beauty . I have not been for a visit in 10 years and miss it daily. With your photos I can re-descover it and truly enjoy the pace. I have some favorites of course, like the stone path, the stoneworked buildings and I can't leave out the donkey's.
I pray the wonderful Irish people never move too fast that they forget to take in the breath taking beauty God has given them. I will be praying for a visit too... I need to walk the streets and be greeted by it all, once again.
Keep up the lovely work, and a Big Hello to Orla ,Jim, Cillian and family !

| Comments: | Hi Dean,
Had to let you know how wonderful it was to have stumbled on your website of Portadown. Your photography work is a credit to you and was a pleasure to look at.
I was born in Portadown in 1970 and grew up in Richhill. Im one of the ever expanding Woolsey family from Scotch St. My Mum is the oldest of 13 children so there sure is a lot of us about.
I moved away from Portadown to Liverpool in 1996 and have just this year moved my life even further afield to the very hot Grand Cayman in the Caribbean.
Viewing your pictures filled me with such warm memories of home and made me realise that its the simple little things in life that mean the most, especially when they are not around to look at.
As beautiful and interesting as this tropical Island is I miss things like a blizzard in main street Portadown, old Red Telephone Boxs, ladybirds, Daisies, Furze bushes and those big red berries that I used to burst open and put the itchy contents in my brothers bed !
Theres even a picture of the little "Jesus is Lord" church hall on Scotch St where my Gran used to take me as a kid. Thankyou for my trip down memory lane.
I was so impressed by how you captured the colour, shape and beauty in perfect freeze frames of such simple things we take for granted. Keep up the great work, I'll be visiting your site often to remind myself of what a beautiful place my hometown really is.
All the best.

A few quick comments!
Is it my imagination or are there fewer people writing in to your guest book? That has always been one of the more interesting parts of your site, for me, and I miss the fact that it updates so slowly! Is this a deliberate ploy on your part?
I suspect that your life is a bit hectic nowadays and this limits the time you can put into the site.
The site continues to look excellent and all the congratulatory comments from visitors are well deserved.
Lastly, I note the switch to biblical quotes! Is there an underlying message here? Are you trying to tell us something!!
All the best.

I found your site through a Google search of Portadown Northern Ireland. I thoroughly enjoyed your pics and photo tour.
Like many of the guests who have signed your guestbook, I too am writing a Family History. My Great Grandfather, Isaac Davidson, was born (1871) and raised in Portadown and came to America (1896) by way of Scotland.
I have a sheet of paper listing the 13 Davidson children signed by R.W. Rennison, Curate of Drumeree, but very little else.
As a small boy, I wanted to grow up to be just like him. He was a wonderful man.
Is there an official records center or genealogy site in Portadown? We hope to eventually travel to Portadown. Any recommendations you might make would be appreciated.
My first search of Portadown was your site - and how pleased I was to find it. You, Sir, are a credit to your City.
If you have time to respond, it would be most welcome.

| Comments: | Hello, Dean. I logged on to your photos while searching for information on Portadown. Thank you for some great pictures; my husband and I really enjoyed them.
You have an eye for composition. The pictures of roof lines were great, and we especially liked your shots of old buildings.
Since you obviously know your way around the area, perhaps you can help us. We've managed to trace my husband's Irish family to the Portadown area. We're coming to Co. Armagh (and other spots in Ireland) in August, and we'd love to walk down the street/road our family walked and sit in the church they attended.
The specific locations we're looking for are: Mullantine, Kilmore and Ballintaggart (We've found the latter two on maps.), and the "Portadown Church of Ireland Church" for 1869. We find there are a couple of possibilites for the church, where Benjamin Finnegan and Jane Cregan were married in 1869.
Could it be either the Church of the Ascension or St. Mark's?
Or at least could one of these churches be on the same site as the 1869 church? We have a 1901 census for a William Finnegan on Jervis St. We're not yet sure this is an ancestor, but time and place seem to be right. Is there still a Jervis St. around?
It's Benjamin and Jane's residence we're hunting for, as they are the family that came to the US with their young son in 1871.
If you know of any of these places we'd appreciate hearing about them. Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to give, and keep taking those pictures!
Sincerely,
Florence Finnegan |

My aunt Winifred and Uncle Joe are still alive in Brownstown. I have visited another 'photo' site [Lyttles?] and found old school photos of me from my 'Hart' days and one of my dad as a member of St. Mark's band.
Thanks for the photos and the memories. I'm going back to it to have a more detailed look. Its a pity your Guestbook is not in operation as I'm sure people would be linked together through it

For the fantastic pictures of Portadown, you can get a feel for the area from your photos. I looked up Portadown as I have discovered part of my husbands family came from there "McKee.
Some left in 1885 (Harriet McKee married to Thomas Campbell) and in 1888 (Lizzie and Mary McKee) and Rachael who married Henry Forde came to Australia later.
I understand Jim McKee stayed in Portadown and had a large family.
I wonder if they are still there? Jim's brother was Samuel (our family leg) and father was William and mother Sarah McFarlane.
I can see forom you photos of the old buildings, Portadown must have been an industrious and bustling town. I mainly looked up Portadown to find out what the area or county it belonged to and found a whole lot more.
Thank you again.

| Comments: | Hi Dean, Gail Elliott here. I just got an e mail from my daughter in Ibiza
with a link to your website. I'm really impressed. Macker thinks it's
great. He recently found some really old photos of Corcrain before the
Woodland Trust planted the trees with local lads playing in the river. Must
let you see them sometime. Are you still litter picking; I am but sometimes
I think it is a fruitless task and I still get stupid people asking me why I
do it but if not me then who? Right I'll have to go to Lidls before they
shut or there'll be no tea in this house tonight. Keep up the good work and
catch you soon. |

You have wonderful site of Portadown :-) It was really nice to see such a lovely and peacefull place.
I found your site when I've been searching the net for information how to get to Portadown from Dublin Airport.
I am from Poland. My brother is going to have a job in Portadown from March 7-th but we do not know how to get to the city from Dublin where he will arrive from Poland.
Could you possibly help us in this matter ? What is the best possible way to get to Portadown form the Dublin Airport ?

Where are you from: | Spain, ex Portadown |
| Comments: | Hey! I just thought i would drop you a line to say that i think that you have a great site.
I myself am from portadown but now am currently living in spain and i think it is wonderful to be able to go onto a site and take a look at so many things people take for granted on a daily basis but are of comfort to me out here.
I am also involved in photography but usually on the other side of the camera when i am not working with images in photoshop. It is also good to see that you have not been messing with the pictures in photoshop as this is a refreshing change to so much of photography these days.
Anyway i will leave it here.
Keep up the good work,
Regards,
Tara |

| Comments: | Dean,
I came across your photo's by doing a google search for Portadown. I
served about six months of my Mormon mission back in 1978. It has been
so long that most of the pictures are not very familiar, but it also
seems like there has been a great deal of construction that has gone
on. I noticed that you were photographing many buildings that were
being demolished. I wonder if the flat that I lived in has gone the
same route. I lived at 103 Bridge Street. When I lived there, there
was a travel agency on the bottom floor. I'd be interested to know if
that building was still there. As I recall one of the bigger arches
for the orange day parade (I think that's what it was called) was
constructed right outside our flat, and we were able to watch the whole
thing by just sticking our heads out the window. Northern Ireland is a
beautiful country and hopefully when my wife and I get our kids grown
and out the door I can take her back for a visit.
Thanks for the pictures, they brought back pleasant memories.

Where are you from: | Ohio |
| Comments: | Thank you for posting your photographs on the internet.
They have been very helpful to me in getting a feel for Portadown.
Two hundred years ago, Thomas Kinney and his wife Margaret Carr
and their seven children left Portadown and traveled to America --
first to Pennsylvania, then on to Ohio. Thomas was the son of
Patrick (born 1738) who was the son of James Nathan Kinney
(born 1712). I am writing a history of their descendants.
Are there Kinney's and Carr's today in Portadown?
Are there photographs among your online gallery of buildings
that might have existed in the 1700's?
I like your work very much.
Best wishes,
Anne Blocker |
