Portadown ...

... is a small town in Northern Ireland and it is a great place to live. Although the town is not perfect it has a lot to offer. The overwhelming majority of individuals in Portadown are honest and hard working people who are striving to make the town a great place to live, and they are SUCCEEDING.

The Future is Bright

Portadown, with a population of about 26,000 within a 2 mile radius from the town centre, is divided by the River Bann, famous for its fishing. The town is becoming increasingly multi-cultural, with migrant workers from many nations like Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Russia, Slovakia, Portugal, China, Brazil, The Philipines, India, East Timor and others, now eagerly contributing to the economic prosperity of the town and surrounding areas. They are coming to Portadown to fill the many vacancies that are difficult to fill. Most of the imports are very hard working and with their help, the town has never looked as good. More new businesses are opening up and new shops and services are thriving. There are more people in employment now in the UK, than at any time in the past 30 years, and the unemployment rate is at a record low.

There are many interesting locations and characters in Portadown. Local areas in Portadown include Corcrain, Redmanville, Killicomaine, Brownstown, Ballyoran, Churchill, Rectory, Edgarstown, Garvaghy, Seagoe, Ballyhannon, Kernan, Tandragee Road, Woodside, the Tunnel and Edenderry. New developments are springing up furthur afield as Portadown grows in all directions. There are also many rural communities in outlying areas. Each have their own stories to tell. Hopefully some of the scenes on this site will provide an insight into life in Portadown.
